Depending on how you look at it, this MySpace layout application could either be brilliant or the most annoying social networking feature yet. Developed by Ksolo, an online karaoke site, as part of MySpace’s recruitment of third-party application developments, MySpace users can now sing their hearts out, record their song and post it onto their MySpace layout.
The way this new MySpace layout works is you download a widget onto your MySpace layout that lets you record your voice. However, to do this, you need to either purchase an external microphone or have a computer with a high-quality, built-in microphone. Once recorded, the song is converted into the appropriate format and then posted onto your MySpace layout. Once a part of your MySpace layout, you can have it play automatically when a visitor arrives to your site or simply have it available for your visitors’ optional listening “pleasure”.
But why stop there? The whole purpose of the new MySpace layout applications is to make the social networking site more interactive. Thus, your friends are not only able to listen to your crooning, they can also rate you. Your total ranking and comments are then posted on your MySpace layout. The MySpace layout application has room for ten songs, all of which can be added to the profile section of your MySpace layout. HI! I am in search of answers to a problem that JUST happend… I have been a member of MySpace fro a couple years now and the Karaoke site for a few months now! I have over 30 SONGS recorded and saved on the regular MYSPACE Karaoke site. Problem is: Suddenly anything I record now NEVER saves! I can record any genre… any song… even comment to all my fans and people I am a FAN of.. but I cannot SAVE a recording anymore. (won’t UPLOAD to your KARAOKE site). It DIED OUT around Tuesday (when Myspace was LATE posting their songs for Monday)..on the 28th of July. I recorded and (saved) two songs that day and then in the evening… I never could do another song! I don’t get it! I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the PLAYER… and nothing! I had written to the TECH desk for any kind of advice and it’s like they were reading GREEK! They didn’t address anything I asked and said something about SAVING the songs as an MP3!!!
CAN you help or do you know anyone that can help???
I am desperate! I FINALLY found something to renew my favorite hobby…since I am mostly home-bound…and now I can’t even do this any more!

everytime i click on a song to record it say javascriptvoid0 i dont understand y its doing this any advice?
I can listen to the karaoke songs on MySpace, I can record, I can save, I can playback (after I’ve recorded). The one thing I can’t seem to do is listen to songs that have been recorded by other users. And the darndest thing. I went to my profile to play a song I’d recorded… and it was all warbly, the way it sounds when I try to listen to someone else’s recordings. Others can hear the songs just fine. Dunno what’s up with that.
